New Work
Al Fallujah - DG, Archival Inkjet Print, 19.75" x 27.5" ed. 20, 2005
My most recent work concentrates on what we don't know: the enigma and confusion associated with political locations. The immediacy and accessibility of digital imagery allow me to scan the landscape for places where humans have left the residue of their behavior. Satellite images provided with permission by DigitalGlobe are juxtaposed with scanned objects and drawings. I do not intend to suggest cause and effect relationships between these elements, or clichéd reminiscence, but rather a controlled displacement of space, referring to the complexity of social, political, and human issues.
