Jim Hunter, a member of the national Theatre design union United Scenic Artists, works regularly in theatres across the country. He is chair and artistic director of the Department of Theatre and Dance at the university of South Carolina.

Kenneth M. Cameron and Patti P. Gillespie, are the originators of this popular textbook. Both are experienced college/university teachers. Gillespie is Professor Emeritus University of Maryland at Silver Spring.
