Paleoglacial mapping and interpretation; valley evolution;
glacial and glaciofluvial erosion and deposition.
Most of the glacial mapping has been in the northern Sierra Nevada, California.

Projects include:
Mapping of striae, erratics, and glacial limits of Late Quaternary ice
advances; Identification of lateral moraines, outwash terraces, and ELAs;
and Cosmogenic and relative dating of the advances. Functional analysis
of glacial valley cross-section morphology.
