One leader of the conference was the Queen Mother, Nana Amba Eyiaba from this same region of Ghana. She generously explained her role, the politics of Ghana, and introduced us to people and customs of region.

We also took time to remember Dr. Ada Maria Isasi Diaz, a mujerista theologian who died this past year. A tree was planted in her honor on the grounds of Talitha Qumi Centre. As a Latina theologian, Dr. Isasi Diaz led the way for greater international dialogue in matters of religion and culture and gender. We are indebted to her wisdom and insight.
