FatemahFatemah

There are some people I would never imagine meeting, thinking that they are too far away, never going to cross my path. This woman is one of them: Fatemeh Haghighatjoo. She was a member of the Iranian parliament, one of the first women. I was honored to have a chance to meet her and hear her stories. Women in leadership have multiple challenges and those who have the commitment to work for justice multiply their problems. But she faced roadblocks and found ways around them. When I asked her about her sources for knowledge of how to deal with those who wanted no change, she paused for a moment and mentioned that her degree in psychology had given her tools that were needed for her work. By the way, she was ejected from Iran and cannot go back at this time.
