In addition to my professional responsibilities at the University of South Carolina, I am also a highly sought speaker both internationally and across the United States. As a public speaker, my presentations focus on developing fundamental leadership skills and successful conflict management strategies. To convey this information, I employ a dynamic presentation style that combines high levels of energy with easily understood substantive messages. I also rely on several examples from everyday life to connect the substance of these presentations to the real world. For additional information, click here to download (in pdf) a brochure of my leadership presentations.

Presentations:

  1. Leadership in 3-D

In this presentation, I offer individuals (geared to college students and young professionals), strategies and tools to better develop their fundamental leadership skills. Specifically, we focus on how effective leaders are Different, Dependable, and Dynamic and we explore how to develop these skills within ourselves.

  1. Successfully Managing Conflict

In this presentation, I offer fundamental tools and strategies to help individuals (geared to college students and young professionals) cope with conflict. Initially, we explore the basic responses to conflict situations (flight, fight, or freeze) and then discuss ways to address conflict and minimize the potentially negative consequences conflict brings. We then discuss long-term strategies designed to reduce conflict in an organizational setting.

  1. Strategic Planning at the Chapter Level

In this presentation, I focus on developing fundamental skills related to strategic planning. Individuals (geared to fraternity and sorority members) learn how to craft and develop chapter identities and mission/vision statements for their organizations. We then discuss how to develop long-term, mid-range, and short-term plans to fulfill specific goals and objectives.
