The work is part of an ongoing series, "Stories, Lies and Unanswered Questions" exploring how we differentiate between illusion and reality in contemporary culture. It employs three important recurring symbols: James Thurber, famous for the Secret Life of Walter Mitty, signifying the simplicity of a known story; Marcel du champ, posed as Rrose Selavy, signifying a complicit lie; and the U-2 aircraft which engages the viewer by looking back and represents unanswered questions.
