In the Vista--Columbia's
historic warehouse district between the Congaree River and downtown--one
can find "something for everyone" among its array of restaurants and
clubs. From fine dining to casual spots that provide an outdoor place to
enjoy a sandwich or a cold one with colleagues, the Vista features both
great cuisine and atmosphere. Hotel accommodations are just blocks away,
putting many guests within walking distance of the food and fun. Art has
been a focus for the Vista Community since the early eighties, when
artists began locating within the area's affordable warehouse space.
Within walking distance, Vista-goers can choose from theatre, art
galleries and museums.

Named
for the
five-pronged intersection of Harden Street, Devine Street and Santee
Avenue, Five Points was the rotating circle for streetcars moving
between downtown Columbia and the beautiful Devine Street neighborhood.
It
has an eclectic mix of restaurants, delis, boutiques, and shops as
diverse as its surrounding neighbors.
Five Points has served its community as a shopping and commercial
district for more than 75 years.

Columbia's Devine
Street, located in the heart of the historic Shandon area, offers a
variety of upscale specialty shopping, dining, entertainment and
commercial businesses in a community environment.

Rosewood
Drive has experienced
significant regeneration in the past 3 years. Even though
Rosewood Drive is a 4-lane
boulevard, it still reflects a
neighborhood-friendly atmosphere, an atmosphere coveted by many
a downtown shopping area. Along with shopping and service oriented
businesses, Rosewood Drive has
legendary family dining establishments
like Rockaway Athletic Club (since 19??) and Rosewood Dairy
Bar (since 1978).

With the phenomenal growth of the Vista in recent years, it's easy to
forget that it was once considered a risky if not foolhardy venture to
open a business in this part of town, ridden as it was with train tracks
and weathered warehouses.
Now, of course, the Vista teems with life -- restaurants, bars, music
clubs, retail shops and galleries. Galleries led much of the area's
development, and there is now so much life in the Vista that the
question is not whether this area can succeed as an entertainment and
