I took David, my 17 year old son, to Firenze to visit my family for a week--his
first trip to Europe.  We arrived in Roma on Easter Sunday, May 27--went
immediately to St. Peter's Square where it was wall-to-wall people (like above).
We returned from Florence on Saturday, April 2, the day the pope died,
and immediately went to Vatican City, St. Peter's Square and the Basillica
(the largest and very impressive church just below this picture).
Two short travel days in Rome, and two amazing events!
