Web Based Experiments

Welcome to the web based experiments offered by The Judgment and Decision Making Lab at USC. The experiments currently being offered are sponsored and supervised by Dr. Doug Wedell. These experiments are offered for subject pool credit for psychology courses at USC-Columbia and may be participated in only once, per person, per experiment. If the same study is completed more than once by the same person, only one credit will be given. Please select the study you would like to participate in, and make note of the study's name for your records. Credit for your participation will be electronically forwarded to the participant pool office once you complete this study. However, it is advised that those who participate also pick up an experiment card from our office in order to ensure proper credit is received for your participation. Experiment cards may be picked up in Barnwell 363 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Monday-Friday.

Facial Similarity ***Due to the semester being over, this experiment is no longer available!!!***        

In this study you will be judging the similarity of facial expressions. One credit hour will be given for your participation. You must answer all questions to receive credit. If you have any questions, please contact Nick Anderson at AndersNC@gwm.sc.edu, and remember to come by Barnwell 363 for your experiment card.
NOTE: This is available to all participants regardless of previous experiments taken.



Emotion Judgment***No Longer Available***        

In this study you will be judging emotions based on facial expressions. One credit hour will be given for your participation. You must answer all questions to receive credit. If you have any questions, please contact Nick Anderson at AndersNC@gwm.sc.edu, and remember to come by Barnwell 363 for your experiment card.
NOTE: This is available to all participants regardless of previous experiments taken.



Evaluating Performance (Part 3)***No Longer Available***        

In this study you will be evaluating the job performance of individuals based on several different pieces of information. This task should take less than 30 minutes to complete, and one credit hour will be given for participation. You must answer all questions to receive credit for your participation. If you have any questions, please contact Nick Anderson at AndersNC@gwm.sc.edu, and remember to come by Barnwell 363 for your experiment card.
NOTE: You CANNOT participate in this experiment if you have participated in either of the experiments below. If you do, your results cannot be used and no credit will be given.

This task should take less than 30 minutes to complete, and one credit hour will be given for participation. You must answer all questions to receive credit for your participation. NOTE: You can participate in this experiment if you have also participated in the experiment below.
