Hurricane Earl had degraded to Tropical Storm Earl by the time it reached Columbia, SC on Sept. 3, 1997.  Nevertheless, it produced enough precipitation in the Mill Creek watershed to generate high runoff volumes and peak discharge rates.  Shown here are the precipitiation values (green line) and hydrographs for three Mill Creek watersheds:  west branch (purple W1 rural), east branch (brown E1 urban), and the outlet of the larger basin (blue line)
