Scholars doing research on topics within the theme of the 2008 Binghamton Geomorphology Symposium (BGS), Geospatial Technologies and Geomorphological Mapping, are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentations.  Abstracts should be submitted to the symposium organizers at: AJames@sc.edu

 

The deadline for submission of abstracts for poster presentations has been extended to October 10, 2010. 

 

New: Student Poster Competition with Cash Prizes

Poster presentations.  All poster presentations for the Binghamton Geomorphology Symposium will appear in a location in close proximity to the paper sessions.  Each poster will be displayed for at least three hours, with ample time for viewing before and after oral paper sessions, and during breaks.

Preparation of abstracts

  • Submit your abstract by e-mail after you have registered for the conference.
  • Begin the abstract with (1) the title, (2) the name(s) of author(s) and affiliation(s), and (3) the e-mail address for the lead presenter or corresponding author only.  Use first letter caps followed by lower case.
  • Abstracts should be no more than 300 words, single spaced, on no more than one page. They should not include special formatting, and should avoid jargon, acronyms, and references to publications.
  • The content should describe research objectives, rationale, methods, and conclusions in clear and concise language. 
  • Include five key words at the end of the abstract.
  • Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail to the organizers at AJames@sc.edu for approval to the program.  You will be notified of the status of your manuscript within a week or so of submitting it.
  • All accepted poster abstracts submitted by Ocotber 10, 2010 will be included in the symposium guidebook.

Poster format, size, and dimensions.  Posters should be no larger than 1.2 m high x 2.4 m wide (4 x 8 ft).  Smaller is better.
